Goshen Gives Back 2011

At Goshen Valley Boys Ranch, we believe in giving back. Here are a few of the giving back opportunities our young men participated in this past year:

Garden & Food Ministry
Every summer volunteers partner with Goshen Valley Boys Ranch to grow a victory garden.  The garden is tended during the summer and vegetables are delivered to Redeemer Food Ministry, a soup kitchen in midtown Atlanta.

During school breaks, the boys take a trip to the Food Ministry to serve those in need.

Serving this Summer
James Fund & Good Goer mission teams, sponsored by Family Christian Stores, grace the Ranch with their presence four times per year.  The young men of Goshen Valley work alongside them to do improvement projects on the ranch as well as engage in relationships with the team.  This past summer the groups created a running track, baseball diamond and did countless other improvements.

Oaks Mission Trip
Eight young men from Goshen Valley had the opportunity to travel across the country this past February on a "Good Goers Adventure Mission" trip to Oaks Indian Mission in Oaks, Oklahoma.  While they were there, the young men refurbished a residence for 10 young men living at the Mission while building relationships with them.  It was a unique opportunity to serve their peers who have found themselves in a similar life circumstance.

Forever Fed
During the school year, many of the Goshen Valley houses look for opportunities to serve as a family.  Some of them have served at Forever Fed, a mobile food ministry in Canton, Georgia, that feeds the community several times per month.  Some of the young men have cleaned out their closets and brought clothing to hand out along with the meal.
