Every young man who steps onto Goshen Valley Boys Ranch is headed towards a "Forever Home."  We focus on three paths that a young man might walk as he moves from Goshen Valley to a permanent family or community. These paths are:

Reunification

When possible, we desire to see young men reunified with their families.  Those who are able are given opportunities to call and visit family members in an effort to heal those relationships.

All reunifications are done through the state court system, and Goshen Valley staff works diligently to see a healthy and smooth transition for the young man and his family who can be reunited.  Family therapy is provided for those families in need.

Adoption

In 2010, Goshen Valley participated in the Georgia State Permanency Initiative and became a leader in private adoptions. Goshen Valley has understood "Forever Homes" to be the foundation for our work with the young men that find themselves here.

We are committed to embracing the idea that every child deserves to have a forever home whenever possible. When a family becomes connected to one of our young men, we often see a natural relationship develop that eventually becomes a lifelong bond. Goshen Valley is dedicated to the ministry that not only serves the young men at the ranch, but looks beyond the valley and becomes the necessary bridge to their forever family.

Transitional Living (North Georgia New Beginnings)

This initiative is a complement of innovative programs designed to successfully launch those young men who find themselves un-reunited, un-adopted, and largely unwanted. They have likely been in care for some time and face an unclear and troubling future. Homelessness is a certainty for some.

New Beginnings will provide a supervised residence, life and social skill development, employment advocacy and placement, and appropriate postgraduate education. The program will be available to 19 through 21 year olds who are in care, with initiative readiness training during their 18th year.

No matter which direction a young man's life might take, we help support and direct them towards a tangible hope and future.
